This place opened up recently and did NOT disappoint. The coconut shrimp was amazing. I also got the Jerk Chicken Pasta and it was seasoned to perfection. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel like we were with friends hanging out. Overall it was clean, the music was fire. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a nice little place downtown to get a meal. I got the Jamaican braised chuck tender. Subbed the cabbage for mac & cheese. I'm not usually impressed with mac & cheese at restaurants. It's usually lacking in something but Kimmie's does it right! The chuck tender was very tender and the square was good. I think I expected a little more spice but that doesn't make it bad. Mashed potatoes were very good as well. They have beer on draft. All domestic though but priced very well and was nice and cold. The atmosphere was nice. Service was prompt and our server was very friendly. All around good experience at Kimmie's kitchen.

First visit and it will not be the last! After looking at reviews and photos I knew I was ordering the salmon with cabbage and rice. Salmon was seasoned perfectly, had a nice crispy char on the outside while the fish was moist and tender. Only thing that could have made it better was another piece! The cabbage was soft and flavorful, but not overly seasoned, nice comfort cooking style. The rice was perfectly cooked, had hints of I believe saffron and maybe liquid smoke(?) whatever it was the rice really stood out my only complaint would be there wasn’t enough. My wife had the grilled shrimp with sauce and she was very happy, they were cleaned, cooked well, and she really enjoyed the sauce. She had the same two sides and also said a bit more rice would have been nice. For desert we had their deep fried cheese cake, it’s almost like a cannoli and cheesecake had a baby that was deep fried. The dough was softer than cannoli but the apple drizzle paired very well with the dessert. We plan to return, but it will be hard to order anything other than that salmon! Great location across, right across the street from Princess Theater.

Went here for a father's day late lunch / early dinner. We were able to get a table right away! The vibes were awesome and the staff were super welcoming. Has a bit of that Nola atmosphere to it with lots of seafood and drink options. Our party's orders spanned across the diverse menu and it was all well prepared and delicious. Just like the reviews said, you HAVE to try the mac and cheese you won't regret it! This was a great atmosphere and carrying conversation was easy as the venue was not too loud. The staff took great care of us and were attentive to our party for our visit. If you're looking for a great place to eat in Decatur you have to give this one a try!

My family and I stopped by Kimmie's tonight for dinner after hearing all the good things about them, and we were not disappointed! Our server, Amber Rose, was very attentive to us and stopped by often to check on us and see if we needed refills on anything. Food was very good! I was lucky enough to get the grouper sandwich-- apparently they always sell out of it early in the day! I can definitely see why it's a best seller! Light, flaky, well-seasoned. Fries were a good amount of crunch, mozzarella sticks were tasty and plentiful. And of course, the macaroni and cheese lives up to its tasty reputation. My family also enjoyed the pineapple salmon and chicken caesar wrap. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, and quick service. Will definitely be coming back in the future!

This place is an absolute vibe! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming—perfect for a chill meal or a fun night out. The food was delicious, and the macaroni and cheese was definitely my favorite—creamy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The only reason I’m not giving it a full five stars is that the service could be a bit better—friendly, but a little slow. Still, I’ll definitely be back. Great food and great energy all around!
